Natural candles vs Industrial candles

Natural candles vs Industrial candles

In any store or even at the supermarket, we find candles of all colors and sizes. But did you know that not all candles are the same? The difference between a natural candle and an industrial candle goes far beyond the price.

Industrial candles, the ones we usually buy without thinking too much, are mainly made with paraffin, a by-product of petroleum. This means that when you light them, they release toxic substances such as toluene or benzene, which can affect indoor air quality and even cause headaches or irritation in sensitive people. Their scents are often synthetic too, with artificial fragrances that tend to saturate the air instead of creating a pleasant atmosphere.

On the other hand, natural candles are made with vegetable waxes such as soy or coconut, or with beeswax, and are scented with essential oils. Since they don’t contain petroleum derivatives, they burn more evenly, produce less smoke, and don’t release harmful toxins.

The difference is clear: while industrial candles can compromise the quality of the air you breathe at home, natural candles offer a safer and more conscious option, for both your wellbeing and the environment.
